Justice Amariah Williams is the Managing Director of Inner City Creative Media Group. After a brief spell in prison in her youth, she turned things around and recently received an MBE

On 16th November she spoke to MA Media Suite students at Birmingham City University.

I will like to know at which stage you can translate your passion into something that is acknowledged through the form of an MBE

The point of the MBE in this case was to reward her passion, as it was focussed on doing some good. Financial success is not an issue – as long as the project is sustainable. She seemed a perfect candidate for it.
From what I gather, Justice was great at sourcing funding from various organisations to keep her projects going. I’m guessing the personal debt she ran up was because she wasn’t making enough to support herself through the early days.
